why old school dials shouldn't be faded out.

for this design i took some aspects from my previously blogged design and integrated feedback from last studio. i enjoyed looking at the small beautifications that can be made through simple additions (thanks art deco exhibition NGV closing 5th oct), like legs/stands and the front glass panel merely for decoration but with potential to allow users to customise their radio. the switching on/ extruding speakers still applies for a contemporary touch to a fairly sophisticated radio. the other radios i found on the net (antique, sorry dont have the site address), and after seeing how good the dials looked i thought i'd change my design again (damn you old school dials!).

Yeah, dials can make things interesting for interaction. The legs are an interesting idea, I think you could experiment with those - try something really subtle that just slightly 'lifts' the product off the surface.

I've gotta get to that ArtDeco exhibition too!
