After going through ideas in the group discussion, i decided to stickwith this concept; the group decided it was the strongest.
They suggestedi play with the front a little and a few other things. So the radio now has a circular speaker on the front and the screen popsup using a spring latch release. The front panel and casing will be madeof metal, maybe stainless steel, and there will be a mesh type texture cut into it to sit infront of the speaker. i'm yet to fully look into how the latch will work but it'll be much like the way a tape deck pops out when you push it. i also found a coating for electronics that makes them splash proof called 'gloden shellback', so that takes care of the waterproofing issue. I haven't really taken the screen design into account because i'm hoping that a touch screen is a viable option, so they would just be computer graphics.I'd also like to make it thinner but i'll have to make sure the electronics will fit.

I really like how you featured the speaker like that, it looks very sleek. I’m sorry I don’t have any more constructive feedback but I just think it looks awesome.
