Week 3 Concept Development

After the thorough table discussion i selected this blocky rotational
idea to pursue. The design is fun to play with (user friendly yay!)
and thus interactive. The problem of having a rotating display is
fixed here by adding a larger cube to the centre of the device that is
always facing the user. The volume display is the coloured light face;
starts witht he bottom right light blue and as you increse the volume
the colours light up around the face ending in the centre with a
vibrant red... perhaps a bit expensive with all the colours but i
thought it was a cool idea. Again, speakers are rotatable to face the
users desired direction.

Good resolution, for the screen problem but I think the interface is a bit confusing for new users. I do like the concept idea and it certainly targets a special segment of the market who is wanting more than just a radio but some of the aspects could have been simplified to reduce production costs without loosing the wow factor.

agree with jeff, the interface might be a bit confusing to some people, depending on the age group i think.
how ever it might also be a advantage/ since it might attract young buyer who like to fiddle around with their personal gadget :D (like myself)
btw is this gonna be a portable ratio ? or stationary. ?
if its portable you might consider rounding off the sharp edges. which may cause some problem in pocket.

overall i like the design looks very playful and appealing :D

Hi, by just looking at your radio, I do think it is a bit confusing, however I think the design is pretty playful-full of different colours! This design certainly force us to think differently about a radio.

The colour idea for volume is nice, I would like you to explore this and illustrate different ways of showing the volume grow.

This is a nice concept, but you need to explore all the options - how many squares, their proportions, colours, etc. I'm thinking at least 10 pages of drawings to make sure this is as good as it can be. Sorry, but I'm not joking!

enjoy
