This is inspire from "FlexiTube Modular Shelving by Doris Kisskalt" I feel a sense of movement inside the two circles and then relate to my next idea "Cassette Tape radio" I think I need to enlarge the wheels, because this way users feel more control on the radio.
Hey Lisa, really cool idea, and i think a lot of people would buy a radio made to look like a tape, but is this radio simply about looks or performance. I think that sound quality wouldn't be the best, however if you really emphasized aesthetics this wouldn't be a big deal. Also, do you stick your finger into the tape holes to tune the station? If so I think that could get quite irritating. This idea has a lot of potential though, just about integrating the functions with the design. Good work
To me, the top of the radio looks very plain and featureless compared to the front, where lots of detail has been added, maybe you would like to move some visual interest to the top face? I'd like for the volume knob to be integrated into the holes in the tape as well, similar to an ipod jog wheel?

ooo, pretty retro-inspired design!

I agree, the design is a good idea, but needs to move beyond the literal proportions of a tape, and just take some cues from tapes.
Also, the 'top' of a cassette tape is one of the most interesting surfaces - the way the mag tape slides through. you could use this!
