push the ends of the radio in and out to adjust both the volume and
frequency.
The concept is symmetrical and thus evokes balance (apart from the
left centered speaker).
I would like to incorporate certain functions of this concept into
further designs.

using larger moving parts is a refreshing change on the user interface - a few people are trying out this idea and with successful results.
Something to work on (yes, this is the constructive criticism part) would be how the user can tell which side is which - volume and tuning. Also, I assume this is not a pocket radio?

this is a really cool idea...the shape works well. is the left panel the only speaker, or would there also be one on the reverse side of the radio?? -grace
