This concept is aimed at producing both a functional and aesthetic alternative to a portable and stationary transistor radio, the features of the radio include a 360 revolving speaker which is aimed at specifying the trajectory of the sound waves for stationary use. The controls on the radio include a sliding control which operates both volume and frequency (a separate switch specifies the actions of the sliding control being TUNE/VOL/HOLD). The radio also comes with a head phone jack for its portable use.

Damn I forgot again to put my name lol, anyway its Dom
i like the idea where you make the shape of your radio more like a phone and instead of a big screen, you put 360 revolving speaker.
smart and the speaker will be lod enough and the fact that you can control the direction of the sound, sounds promising

The revolving speaker is a great idea, although if this is a handheld radio is there necessarily a need for it to revolve, because im not sure how often there would be a need for it to point away if it sits on a surface the way it is drawn. Perhaps if it was fixed but had the opposite arc to the body, ie concave. The curved body of the radio makes it very elegant and modern, fulfilling the “culture” aspect of the brief well, although it seems that the curve is opposite to the curve of the hand, perhaps it would be more ergonomically sound to have it curve into the palm of the hand. The tuner/volume slider is interesting, its a relatively intuitive interface once familiar with the side switch. perhaps as an alternative to the switch/slider combination, the slider could be moved up and down to switch between tuner/volume, which would mean the radio could be fluently adjusted without moving to a different button.
