Fatigue

WELL seeing as though i'm not the only one doing fatigue (which is pretty
crap) I thought I'd take a different direction.
My initial concepts were of an aesthetically pleasing object that can be
hung on your rear view mirror which changes from a green (normal) to red
(fatigued) and then flashes when it thinks you've been driving for too
long/if it thinks you need to take a rest.
I also discovered that carbon dioxide can cause people to become sleepy
and dizzy so I'm still trying to figure out a way to detect if there is a
high level of that gas surrounding you.
SO ANYWAY
that's my idea

lol ye i was thinking of doing sumthing along the lines of fatigue, and having something that measures how many time u blink, therefore calculating how tied u r.

I like you're ideas Annie, i think they have potential. I was thinking that this device could be useful for people such as truck and coach drivers- people who are constantly driving. Maybe you could have some option where you could input details such as your destination (similar to a GPS) and the device then works out when u need a break from the distance travelled? Just a thought.

hey, i agree with jessica, your ideas have potentials. You can also design something that directly contact to the body that has like a sensor inside, or it can scan the eye to measure as well.

Annie, fatigue kills people on our roads, this is highly topical and relevant. This is a good project if you narrow down the inputs - how will you measure tiredness exactly? What evidence do you have?

Be careful, as ideas such as blinks are not very precise (imagine driving into the sun) and the equipment to detect and count blinks is going to be complicated.
