Hey guys,
From last week i decided to make a few minor changes to enhance the user interaction
- I made the main body thinner, and even height, rather than slanted.
- The top of the base plate is a convex shape to allow the main body to move up and down, side to side alot easier.
-The thickness of the LED light strip is wider (7mm)
- A 10mm diameter clear acrylic LENS has been lathed out and ready to be inserted (Thanks Andrew G for the suggestion last week)
-The base is curved to fit most Dashboard edges.
Most importantly however is the way the device is adjusted has been changed. Instead of using a flexible tube (Which is rather hard to adjust in such a small area and does not hold its position) i made a tiny ball, and placed a wooden dowel connecting this and the main body (SHown in one of the photos). This is an easier way of adjusting the position of the device as it has a more free range of motion. The ball is firmly locked in the hole and can move in any direction, and will hold its position nicely when adjusted.
Still need to drill hole for lens, prime and spray paint.

Hey Kyle
You are quite talented in model making (based on your drill)… this model is pretty good so far. I think you are in the other class (or I don’t remember your presentation) I don’t know what you are measuring but generally I think the thinner the better.
Good Luck
Jeff
Hey Kyle
well sounds like you are on track and have it all worked out just a matter of doing it. should look good once it's done. It looks like you are using MDF as the material don't forget of you going to paint it you need to seal it with an undercoat 1st because the paint straight out of a can will just soak into the wood and won't give a nice finish.
oops that is my comment above Jamie.

I saw you did some great work in the workshop!! You're pretty mush in the final stage!!Hope you can get a great fiish at the end.
