just an idea i dreamt up, maybe you could continue the theme of preserving energy by making the shape even more minimalistic by removing the extraneous material around the leaf, so it is just... a leaf :P.
im not sure if this would interfere with the electronics. would be cool if the mantra of efficiency ran through the entire process/design of the object.
