Refined final model

Hey everyone, this is the refined version of my previous model which I took into studio on tuesday. The first model highlighted a number of problems with the design mostly to do with its size and shape - it was to wide and hung very loosly around the wrist. I also realized the side control dials stuck out too far and were prone to bumping.

After refining the design ive adjusted the shape (so it fits snug around the wrist), and made a 'valley' or groove for the dials to sit more streamline into. I wanted to aesthetically balance the top and bottom segments so i removed the round lump on the end and carried the styling lines from the top section, around the band and onto the battery hatch section (at bottom).
The model is nearly complete and just needs final details such as the texture on speaker on control dials. :D

Goodwork Andrew!

I think your solution works very well and the overall form is pretty sik.

I think 10 out of 10 and your name are a bit of a habit at late, haha how you like them apples?!

Good stuff

I agree, this is great work. I'm glad you are organised enough to do one model, assess it, and then improve through another one. This is really the strength of the foam modeling process.

I look forward to seeing this one in the flesh

Fantastic stuff Andrew, I think all components fit together like a glove! As a mentioned a few weeks down the track that round bit that was hanging at the end was taking away from the design and it looks much better without it. I was just wondering how many pieces of foam is used to create the different parts (body and buttons and so forth). Have you tried this design on different wrists? I think a flexible material for the wrist part solves the one size fits all problem to some extent. Great work…

absolutely awesome andy!! i cant really see any floors in this concept other then perhaps the frailty of the wrist strap. however that depending on say the materials used wouldnt be an issue. love the form and it has been worked briliiantly. great job!

Hey Andy,
all good improvements, your product was initially looking a bit bulky to have on your wrist but im sure its a much better fit now. Nice job with your model workmanship you must have been very patient to get that exact shape and smooth finish. I would like to see some texture on the speaker, i think that would really cap off the design.

Good job! Tim.
