Task Clarification

Here's the Revised TC for those who wont to understand what my concepts about:

The aim of my product is to measure the efficiency of transportation, put simply it's the Energy expenditure of the transportation (Mega-joules) divided by the mass of the occupancy (Kg). This formula will be calculated using the statistics surrounding the six main modes of transportation being; Cars, Trains, Trams, Buses, Motorcycles and walking.  These factual result will then be pitched against the statistics for walking the same distance; the formula being (3.318kj (Times) mass of individual (kg)). This second calculation is to satisfy the brief in the way the final measurement cannot be a pre-existing measurement itself. My aim is to at create a functional product that offers a real innovation and service as apposed to simplistic gimmick.

Thee formulas above lie at the crux of the product, however I'm thinking of broadening the Functionality to include a Global Positioning system (GPS) and a statistics component which provides relevant information on a variety of prominent aspects of transportation. I also aim to explore the necessity of the GPS and subsequently the advantage of having exact calculations with regard to distance of journey etc. This programming needs to be housed in a portable, ergonomic and practical casing so as to allow for easy of use and accessibility.
