flowershowerpower

hey!

so this is my showerhead that measures water usage by taking pressure
readings and the area of the pipe into account. the design
incorporates two pipes for hot and cold water (although this would
mean that professional installation is required... such as for new
homes, renovations or dramatic environmental changeovers) and this
allows the user to be alerted they have nearly used their allocated
water by 3 short cold sprays, finally dropping the pressure till it's
completely off after 100 Litres has been used. There is also a safety
reset feature to ensure people don't "cheat" where once the shower is
off, it takes 3 mins till it can be turned on again.

i aimed for a sleek organic form to complement current showerheads and
bathroom faucets in modern elegant and sophisticated bathrooms today.
and kept it free of too many wierd angles as these would be quite
difficult to keep clean.

do you think the form is appropriate? there are so many sleek, flowing
designs out there so i tried to keep it in line with the current
style...

and materials? chrome is horrible to the environment, but so are most
metal alloys that have chromium. stainless steel?

let me know whatcha thinkin!

adios

Hey lukey. Concept is coming along really well and I love the fact that you can't cheat and have to wait 3 minutes until the shower can be turned on again; after the allowed volume of water has been used. Perhaps 3 minutes is a bit cruel though, Maybe after say 1 minute the shower turns on but only a limited amount of water comes out from the shower head and then after an additional 2 minutes, proper use resumes. Anyhow, in terms of the form and material, I like the organic sleek look, but the head is maybe a bit too big and doesn't really flow from the neck. I like that you'cve kept the design simple howevere because you don't really need an artistic shower head. I definately think you should go with chrome though. It's elegant, durable and won't lose its appeal. Plastic won't last and can't really withstand high pressures and the other alternatives will rust. Great stuff though and look forward to the final model. Oh and best of luck with WARMAN, Lo-rider all the way in 08 lol.

it loks good with the corve before the shower head, its got a massive head but man! alot of water would be produces from it, maybe a smaller head with multiple water jets for minimal water wastage.
