Some answers

Hi All,

There have been some questions floating around, so here are some answers:

Can my radio go outside the dimensions in the brief?
No. Not at any stage.

In what way are the electronics flexible?
The circuit board can be changed in proportion, but the overall size (you might like to think of this like surface area) must not change. Splitting in 2 parts is ok. The speaker is only a little bit flexible - you can make it bigger or have 2 or more, so long as your radio doesn't go outside the sizr constraint, see above. As for making the speaker smaller, there is only so far you can go before sound quality is diminished, and cost is prohibitive. Also, for anyone making small speakers, you will need to fully justify your decisions, show me examples of speakers that exist in this size, and also justify the likely price increase of your product. As you can see, it's easier to stick to the sizes given in week one, but if you're up for the challenge, I'm ready to be impressed.

What is a 'hero shot'?
This is a photo/rendering/photoshop job of your product. This should be based around your finished model, but I'm expecting creativity here too, so go nuts. Some good examples of hero shots can be seen on the senior year work that is posted around the studio space.

Can I get some more foam?
Yes, this can be purchased through Jim, who's supply shop is open from approx 9-9:30 in the morning, and 1-1:30 in the afternoon. Do not leave this untill the last minute, plan ahead!

Thats all for now. Keep those model pics flowing! Nice work so far.

Oh, and stay off the disc sander, it tends to melt foam.
