Model Progress pics

Hey guys heres some photos of my model, the band is starting to take shape. I made the lump (which keeps it from slipping off wrist) and stuck it on the end as it was getting way too fiddly to round out of one piece! (it was hacking to pieces) I still need to sand it down so it flows with the band. The round top is roughly the right shape but i will shave it down to about half as thick and make the dials and interface then. I practiced shaving out the grooves on a test piece first.

I love this idea andy! i saw you in the workshop trying to cut out the inside, it looked very difficult. do you think that the wrist band sorta part would be thick enough to take the weight required for the radio. love the idea though and model is looking great!

Great work on the model Andrew… It does look difficult to make out of one single piece. Would you reckon it would have been easier and more time conserving if you made the curve of the band out of another piece of foam (like the sphere at the end)? As far as symmetry of the top part goes I think you’ve done a very convincing job. GL

Great job Andrew, the edges and curves are nice and crisp, and the shape is coming along nicely, although it would have been nice if you put something next to it for a sense of scale since its hard to get a grasp of the exact size.
