This is my radio design. The model itself is not complete and i still got quiet a bit of work to do ...this is basically a overall shape, the final model should open up .. (hopefully it will..) , its not perfectly symmetrical. but I had tried my best XD .

i think you should make the opening up bit of foam? it'd be hard but it is definitely worth doing.

although its only preliminary, you can really tell you've been very careful about the shape, everything looks proportionate and smooth...well done, cant wait to see it open up...Nice job with the lighting as well, gives a dramatic effect.
