HEART photography exhibition

This image is from an exhibition in northcote which i think is pretty cool. it's a series of photographs taken by mainly teenagers who had previously been caught up in the justice system, and are now on the path to rebuiling their lives. alongside each real-life photo is a short biography which describes each person's troubled past and they struggles they currently face, trying to overcome the negative image held against them. i like the exhibition mainly because of how candid and honest it is---the stories are really captivating, and i like the fact that you get to know a bit about the artist behind the work :)

This reminds me of a quote, I'm not exactly sure how it went but something along the lines of "you can live alone, or die together".

When I see this photo, it's like those young people are almost alone in their physical beings, but in their thought they are together because they are sharing problems that maybe similar.

It also illustrates the difficulties that youth face up to when they are in that transitional period. Difficulty to share your thoughts with others because you're afraid to express what is truly there instead of something fake that is most of the time, easier to accept.

Great photo!
