Presentation boards and the submission

Hi Everyone

There's been a few questions about the submission: so here we go:

  • Although presenting in week 13, the work will be due by 5pm on Thursday the 23rd of October, at my office. You are welcome to submit early, but remember the penalties for submitting late are 10% per day. 5:01pm is late. The idea with this is that you get a chance to show off, and the chance to learn and improve from everyone's comments by submitting later.
  • Full folios are not in the final assessment materials. This would be a good time for you to re-read the Measurement Brief. However:
  • Product development is an important part of your presentation, and I would expect to see a concise summary of your 'journey' to the final product.
I've done a few quick drawings of the kind of presentation you will need to make. DO NOT COPY THE EXAMPLES EXACTLY! Your order might be different, and the emphasis will be on different features. As a run down of what I would expect as a minimum:

Summarise your project, your measurement, your market, the need for your product. Also shows some of the early concepts that were instrumental in the development of your chosen idea.

How it works, the measurement inputs and the communication outputs.

Main rendering(s) showing product features - functional, aesthetic etc.

More renderings? Exploded views? Other features? You might not need this page, or you might need even more - it's up to you. More pages do not necessarily mean more marks.

Some of you will need more pages about use, others about the parts, others about the inputs. This is of course up to you and will depend on your personal situation.

Any questions remaining? Post as comments and I'll keep track as best I can.

Did someone say unit evals?

-Robbie
