This is the progress of my magnetic board model so far. I am still yet to apply a patter to the metal plate and hinge both sides together. I also need to cut the magnetic blocks out and paint them. I plan to go shopping for materials tomorrow.

That's looking really good Tim! I'm glad you went with the border around the metal top, looks really well finished. What did you end up using for your hinge system (looks like its on a hinge)?
What kind of colours are you thinking of painting your blocks? This is coming along nicely!

like the idea of how you've taken the idea of the game board case that is able to somehow change/ transform into a game board.
for the color of your designed game board i'm thinking about something that is rather bright ~ such as white ~ rather than black or dark colors ( which gives it a industrial look rather then a type of gaming board) , since your targeted audience are for children's ~
