Poised to be a hero

Hey guys as you can see still a bit of work to be done here, but everything is on track with the patience game, just a matter of painting and polishing. Basically I'm gonna use acrylic for the LED display which surrounds the 3 by 3 base of my game block and I've already got some rubber matting which I can simply cut spray and paste onto the corners for my buttons. Also vac formed a clear plastic case which will hold the blocks together when not in use. It is not quite a hero yet, but has great potential I think...

hero shot

Here is a rendreing of my product dne in photoshop and I still need more practise with the tablet. Even thought the final turned out thicker than I had hoped due to internal parts I am happy with the directioms I took throughout the project.

Busy Beacon Hero Shot

Hi,

Above is a very basic rendered image (3d Studio Max + V-ray) of the final design of my Busy Beacon…..which will do as my hero shot (Some surfaces are still box, no time to mesh model everything perfectly). Physical model's progress is below the hero.

I managed to turn down my Acrylic spheres to a fair degree of spherical-arity. Also found these little self sufficient LEDs that I could plug into the spheres and fire up. All other parts are painted and clear-coated (beats cutting and polishing…I think). So now I can start assembling, gluing together parts (the most enjoyable part in the process, as it all just …comes together).

Good Luck fellow industrial designers.

Sova hero shot

i have been playing around with paint finish and i was thinking of putting a white highlight in just to break up the black a bit. I think it still has the authoritative feel that is needed but it is a bit better than all black, what are your thoughts? Also i have changed the sova logo. I think this one is better. Anyway i need to get back to drawing.

drying

hey,

so i couldn't touch my model because its drying (i tried... bad idea,
now i need to respray it tomorrow after i sand back my fingerprints!).
thus can't position it for the awesome hero shot i would have made.

but this pic should explain the mirror like finish i obtained for my
chrome shower head.

This is the model of my food-poisoning dipstick. Surface finish is still not there yet...

Hero Shot

So i went a bit overboard with the x-ray glasses but heres my hero shot! The photos are from earlier this week but my final model is virtually completed i just need to add my logo and stitch on side tag.
Catchya thursday everyone!

Laura "Hero" shot

So due to my lack of photoshop.... I give you:

It's almost finished. I've still got to position the globe so the light disperses more evenly, print the gradient onto transperent paper and attach the microphone section to the rest.

Hero shot

Something i did in photo shop  quickly. Very close to what the final should look like.

Hero Shot...without the hero part

Here's mine. The top bit is going to be finished in chrome and the bottom bit in matte black to represent the soft cloth bit. At the moment i'm sanding back the primer off the top part to make it as smooth as possible. Then i will undercoat it in silver, and the to finish it off i will apply the chrome paint. As for the bottom bit i just need to paint it black and it will be done.
